According to a CNN story about James Cameron's Avatar, some moviegoers have been experiencing depression and even thoughts of suicide in the wake of viewing the film, "because they long to enjoy the beauty of the alien world Pandora."
What film do you long to return to?
Avatar. I'd happily give up laptops and electricity if I could plug directly into the soul of the world, not to mention my lover, my horse and my own private dragon. And I could live with being twelve feet tall, in perfect condition, adored by little jellyfishy seed things.
Hangover. I miss the beauty of the alien world Las Vegas, where I learned that depravity and being wasted to the point of oblivion can have a happy ending. It's so tragic that what happens in the theater has to stay in the theater.
The Twilight Saga. A world where a fairly average person can be desired and beloved and fought over by everyone -- and all the important people are 18 and gorgeous? I'm ready -- send over the U-haul.
