We don't have a watercooler, but we do have a statistically meaningless weekly Straw Poll. Help us shape a sense of the Site on vital and semi-vital topics of the day. You're here, so you might as well vote. Don't let others define you.

Seriously? We're still talking about this? Seriously? Despite the fact that two Hawaiian newspapers published birth announcements for Barack Obama in August, 1961, and the current Republican governor of the state has certified Obama's birth certificate as legit, a recent CNN poll shows that 41% of Republicans and 15% of Democrats believe President Obama probably or definitely was not born in the U.S. and is therefore not legitimately president.
Why do so many people believe Obama isn't an American?
Because the mainstream media have done a piss-poor job of proving he is. They usually question the citizenship of presidential hopefuls serving in the U.S. Senate, right?
Because the sidestream media was blab-casting this meme so loudly for so long that it eventually came to seem like it must therefore be true.
Because people want to believe it. It explains how a relatively unknown politician could have become president so suddenly. And he's black. Which makes no sense. So there has to be some explanation. And there it is.
Legitimacy:
  •   Can prove my citizenship with something other than a birth certificate
  •   Can prove I am not a Muslim terrorist
  •   Can prove whether or not I have African-American blood
